Not too sure about the claim for zero emissions (during the mining and manufacture of all the materials and equipment used during construction) but it seems that the industry is beginning to take the need to cut emissions in service a little more seriously.

Seems hard to knock the idea from this stage Ron , the usual consumption of energy and materials would have been used to complete the hull but the batteries and propolshion machinery will be of ongoing low emmisions in service.
There are now a few all Electric Harbour tugs in service that are proving their worth so the Sky could be the limit.
I am not so sure about the timber constructed container ship recently disclosed by the BBC news Afterall King Henry's Mary Rose was said to consume 100 acres of Prime Oak in the construction which is not very conservational these days .
