THE CMA-CGM FIDELIO departed the port of hamburg
the cma-cgm fidelio and the cma-cgm medea ,owned by cma-cgm france are considered the largest container vessles in the world at the moment, carrying 9,415 tue's,
however samsung heavy ind. held a christening ceremony for a 9,600 tue container vessle built for china c.g.s. wich was handed over at the ceremony.
S.h.I. had already built what they claimed was the worlds largest container vessle in july last year 2005. it has only been a year for the shipbuilder to renew this record.

Maersk has ships that are 367 m long and 43m beam and same drafts 14.5m drafts, but claim only to have a 7000 TEU capacity, are Maersk filling there holds with expanding foam or has someone a more logical explanation?
Take a look at the thread "containerships" in the member's notice board. It's all explained there.
