[nauru drifter]

I sailed in this ship in summer 1980 from Birkenhead to ports various down the East African coast, terminating @ Dar Es Salaam. It was a charter voyage for Harrison Line, the Capt was Young and the Chief Officer Bennett - excellent run ashore company. I remember chips was a weekly breakfast 'special' - happy days. Nauru Drifter

Hi "Nauru Drifter" - were you by any chance on "Beechbank" maiden voyage in 1965/1966 ? I was 2nd Mate there - Captain Jim Townsley - we spent 77 days at Nauru (brand new ship, nothing to chip or paint !)

Beechbank Maiden Voyage

I am Captain Jim Townsley's grand daughter - my dad has a photo of him with the Beechbank in on its maiden voyage!
