My children loved it on there, so much so we took them on the Disney Fantasy the following year.
They cater for families and when we took the children, in their late teens on a more grown up cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, 3 years ago they complained saying they would rather have gone on a Disney Cruise again! You can't win.
Maiden voyage Disney Magic... the first Disney ship. Captain was Hans Mateboer. Originally with Holland America and 'Oceaan Fleets'. Anyhow, the first 'welcome party' for the passengers Hans was giving his Welcome. He was rigged with a harness behind his uniform. The idea was that at the end he would say, "Up! Up! Up and away!" like Peter Pan. He would be whisked away and up into the top of the stage and into a small 'exit'. They had not done a trials and told Mateboer would be just fine. At the end he gave his 'Up! Up!' the wired lift him off the stage and into the box. The box was small.. fine for the little actors for the shows, but not for a 6ft Dutchman. He hit the box and all the passengers lounge could hear was Bang and "Sh*t! Fu*k! "
