Anyone have photos of any or all of these three ships, built in 1929?

Would be most appreciated.

I have just found out that My uncle Basil was on the Lylepark;
discharged 4th December 1941; he was recorded as being unfit
after that, for some months. Please does anyone know if anything
happened to the LYLEPARK around that date. My uncle seemed
to have avoided death a number of times, having left the ships
prior to disaster striking.

Lylepark - 13th December 1941

Hi ,

On 13 December 1941, the Lylepark left Liverpool bound for Freetown with a cargo of coal. It arrived safely, as did all the convoy except that the reoccurent steering problem which had been as a result of an accident, played up.

Perhaps it was the fact that the ship left on the 13th (Don't know whether it was a Friday!) that sent an auspicous signal. All the Crew Changed when the ship returned to the UK in February ( SL101 CONVOY)and it then began its last voyage with Convoy ON86 New York and then alone to South Africa.Sunk 11th June 1942.

Hope this helps

Just interested to know..........how did you establish 13th December 1941 was a Saturday?????
Easy... just google the date etc. " CALENDAR 13 DECEMBER 1941"

Am working a painting for June 1609... Sea Venture from Plymouth to wreck in Bermuda. Just the month and the year and was able to get the phases of the moon etc... etc. Would be great if I could the weather but I already knew that... SEA VENTURE wrecked in a hurricane 24th & 25th June 1609.... Full moon on 17th.
