Anyone out there ever come accross the floating crane Hebe 2 wich worked in and around the Clyde during the building of the concrete rigs at Ardyne point just round from Dunoon. I think she was from a German Company possibly Hebe ?

Worked with her alot over the years on different projects. She was still going strong a couple of years ago. Was owned by Neptun. Do a google search with Floating Crane Hebe 2 and alot of interesting sites come up or try

Hebe 2 is now TAKLIFT 6 and her sister Hebe 3 is TAKLIFT 7, both are fully operational within the SMIT Transport and Heavy Lift Fleet, they have been well maintained and upgraded over the years and have the potential to continue operating at full capacity for many more years.

www.smit.com has the latest brochures with some good publicity photos of the cranes in action.

I worked with her when she was at Ardyne.

We came up from Liverpool in the tug 'Alfred' to act as a tender to her. The nightly runs to Rothesay became known locally as the 'Bunny Run'.

Got a photo of her and will post it later.
