Hi, sorry to put my oar in,but the photo isn't the Ilorin Palm. It's maybe the Ikeja, Ilesha or one of the L boats, Regards Graham

Sorry that's not come out at all.It's my first try.
I'ts the Ilorin Palm on sea trials in 1960.
I sailed on her in 1961 as an EDH.
It would confirm your comments Palmship.
The Ilorin had four square openings at the forward end of the midships superstructure.

Agree with palmship. The vessel in the photo (no poop awning?) is almost certainly Lagos or Lobito Palm. Both those vessels had a 6 cylinder doxford - as opposed to 4 cylinders for other vessels of class - and thus had a greater horizontal distance between the end of the wheelhouse and the funnel.
