This is Williamson & Co of Hong Kong. They had ships named Inchwells, Inchmull, Incharron, Inchkeith, Inchmay. These are about all I can remember. I sailed on Inchwells in 1948. Williamson was a New Zealander living in Hong Kong. The ships were mostly ex Empire vessels and all were tramps. Inchwells was chartered for 2 years at the time to Union Steamship Co of New Zealand. When the charter expired we sailed to Hong Kong and I left the company there.I have seen reference to several Hong Kong-registered ships with names beginning with "Inch". Can anyone tell me what company this was? I would appreciate it very much.
I am writing up my memoirs and your info on this company is very valuable. do you want more details from me? Are you writing a company history? Let me know and I'll put it all into Ships Nostalgia.Hallo Capilano and Derringham thank you for the additional information, so I can get this shipping co's fleetlist more compleet.
Hi there, this is a long shot as many years have passed since this forum was posted, but we have just had some family 8mm film reels developed and had some great footage of the Inchstaffa at Port of Tauranga, if it is of any interest.Derringham
