It is with great sadness that I have just learnt that Jimmy Kinsella has died.
Jimmy was an ex Chief Engineer and became Supt before returning to sea again as Chief.
Colin Mills found Jim's obit in a local newspaper and passed the sad news to Bill Dickinson who in turn informed me.

Jim was one of the nicest and most popular guys you could ever meet. He was well liked by all.
The last time I was with Jim, he was C/E on Explorer, I was implement some scheme from BP.
He was always courteous and gave his time freely

I think he was a 1952 or 53 Engineer Apprentice intake

Following his departure from BP he became an officer in The Juvenile Court system in South Sefton. He held this responsible office for many years.

Another legend and good Evertonian has gone.

RIP Jim

Sorry to hear that I was with Jimmy on the British Trent in 1986/7. He was a great guy one of the best chiefs I sailed with.
Here are a couple of photos of Jimmy, Christmas day and relaxing on a Sunday afternoon.
