Many readers and contributors to this forum will be familiar with the Journal of Naval Engineering, published by the RN (or should I say MOD UK) regularly from just after WW2 ended. Every unit of the Indian Navy, ship or shore, also received copies of this journal, so I too came to appreciate its unique blend of technical content presented in clear and readable language.
Some time after the turn of the century, it also became available on the internet, with an archive reaching back to the very beginnings and including the predecessor to the JNE, dating from the 1920s. If memory serves, the website was managed by BMT, on behalf of the MOD UK, but access remained free and unconditional.
Of late, however, the site seems to have closed down, and even a Google search yields nothing. Does anyone know what the position is? Has the journal itself closed down? And is the archive not available any more?
