Beautiful pic....just lovely......but....i would have made that mistake.
I remember as a boy reading the "Observers Book of Ships".....daily.
The United Fruit ships always caught my eye.... Every time.
Beautiful lines....counter sterns and a style that is timeless.

The Sea Witch rings a big bell but i cant quite place it.
Ill have a search through Google after ive put my disabled partner to bed.
Shes 83 and suffers from Parkinson's....so i have to put her first.

Your memory has more clarity than mine, stephen.
I started my cadetship in1971.....my recollection of the Royston Grange in May 72 is clear as crystal....the name SEA WITCH rang so many bells .....i couldnt recall a single detail..... to my shame.
The actual position of the disaster im very familiar with....odd that no mention was ever made.of it by others....at least.....in my recollection..,.at any time since.
My first trip to NY ..... Atlantic Conveyor....was 1975.....Capt Obrien


......an interesting but sad footnote.
