Welcome to SN from the UK.

I can't answer your question but here is some information that may be of interest.

There is a photo on SN to be found here: http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/723/password/0/sort/1/size/medium/cat/all/page/9

There were actually two ships called Hopecrag - this page has some basic information on them though I suspect you are interested in the other one: http://www.angelfire.com/de/BobSanders/Hopemount.html

The following information regarding one of these ships is on this page: http://www.warsailors.com/freefleet/norfleetw.html

Summary of information:

Built in Sunderland 1929, name was changed to D/S Wyvern NS in 1938

POST WAR: Sold to Zeta Shipping Co Ltd, Hong Kong in 1953, and renamed Zeta Trader. Sold to Hong Kong breakers during March 1959. Vessel had been laid up at Hong Kong since Jan. 17-1959

Good luck and enjoy the site!

M.V Hopecrag

Thanks guys for the info,
I sailed in the 2nd Hopecrag on her 2nd & 3rd trips, and obviously I have fond memories of those days.

Thanks for this.
I knew deep down she would be gone but she seems to have had a hard time of it.
At least I have the memories of her & mine young days. when we both had a fair turn of speed. (Applause)
