I recently bought a model of a vessel called Malacca of 3891GRT and was apparently built by William Denny and Bros. of Dumbarton in 1897. Can anyone tell me who the ship owner was and was it actually built by Denny & Bros?

Sounds like the one I saw on eBay??...I couldn't find anything else about her either.

It would seem Denny didn't ever build a ship named "Malacca". Date and GRT however correspond to ss "Rangoon" which they built for Henderson & Co. Details here:

Many thanks gents you confirmed my thoughts about Malacca.
FYI I bought the model in a furniture shop which was part of their display. It cost me a lot less than what Premier Models are asking on their website.
