Hi all. I was on the BP Tanker British Courage during 1970/1 when we answered a call from the Maldive Freedom on our return run from the Gulf to Durban. Her boilers had broken down and she wanted assistance. It was a Lloyds Open Form and we towed her to Mombasa. She was crewed with English officers and a Goanese crew. She was once the Castilian and before that I think she was the City of Peterborough. I was a steward at that time and I did get a share of the salvage a while after. It was £78.00 but after the taxman took his chunk I only had £24.00 out of it.(Thumb)
Best regards. Gino
