Trying to find out on Metinda lll she carried a cargo Derrick boom of the aft mast lifting gear etc, does not show any winch for it, was the lines carried to the port side aft capstan no deck winch on plans any help much appreciated tassie48

Can't see a capstan (port) on the deck on the plan or photo. What the plans do show are a pair of winches immediately close aft of the mainmast. I wish the plan was clearer! Do you have a good copy the plan?

My plan only shows mast stovepipe galley to stb two steel chests aft of mast on centerline large steel chest to stb aft. So steel chests could be winches tassie48

Well, certainly in the right location for them. One for the topping lift and the other is the runner. The same pair of winches might be double purpose... the derrick and the falls for the two lifeboats.
