Hi,

Does anyone have any details (photo would be superb) pictures of the Brosund.?

She was a water carrier in her latter years (built early 1900's) that worked out of Gibraltar to Morrocco and servibg ships in the Straits.

Anything about her, her fate etc would be gratefully appreciated.

My brother worked on her for a time.

Cheers,

Rushie

Brosund update

Hi Gdynia,

Checked out the company name who ran the Brosund. It was Vistula Trading, an outlet of Sorek Shipping of Gibraltar, who are still supplying ships in the Straits.

Hope this helps, thanks for your time and help.

Hope its warmer in Saudi than it is in dismal South Devon.! 14 ships in Torbay the other night sheltering from storms...it looked more like Singapore...!!

Cheers,

Rushie

Pleased be advised that I was the last Captain of M.T. Brosund, my final duty was to deliver her to Puerto Santa Maria Spain for a programmed dry docking.
Upon survey her lower hull was found to be in a very unsound and therefore unseaworthy state, repair was found to financially unviable and she was therefore scrapped!…..
Best regards
Captain Paul B Moore
