Hello I sailed on the Nuddea as a passenger to Bremen with my mother when i was maybe 10 years old in about the early sixties. I remember being allowed to take the helm under guidance as she approached Bremen. And I clearly remember being told that the buoys marking the approach channel delineated the boundary of the minefields. My father worked for the BI and a perk was getting passage on BI cargo ships. My mother was born in Hamburg hence the trip to Bremen which I remember was about an Hours train journey from Hamburg. The cabin was one or two decks under the bridge and I also remember that coming across the North Sea the ship encountered a bad storm which I enjoyed. Although my mother was quite sick. I think we sailed from Tilbury but I am not sure.
