ON LOSING ULSTER.

If we should lose our kith and kin in Ulster, by default,
It seems that Scotland then would bring the Union to a halt.
The will to do so is quite clear, north of the English border.
And who would bring it all about? Such mayhem? Such disorder?

And what, then, of the monarchy? The Monarch of the Scots?
As well as Wales and England. Who now really calls the shots?
Is it some tousled lunatic who wills these things to pass?
Challenging us all to rise and get up off one’s arce?

As he would put it, so we’re told. Yes, I will challenge him,
As far as I am able, given vigour, strength and vim.
The lunatic pours petrol on the calm domestic fire,
The arsonist. His mischief, his ignition and desire.

Discussion has descended into insult and abuse.
Are all of his opponents cowards, traitors or obtuse?
That much appears to be quite wrong. Celts are our strongest forces.
Who now would seek to bring about predictable divorces?

The lunatic, he speaks of “friends and partners” in EU,
Yet seeks to turn his back – and every friendship to eschew,
For reasons which do not add up, in soul arithmetic.
The observation has to be – the lunatic is thick.

So very true...B.Y.

However, I expect this will end up on the 'naughty step' .(Jester)..

All together, "I don't know why there's no sun up in the sky", etc.

Thank you, XP.

The whole bang-shoot is quite clearly on the naughty-step already.

Never before have we seen such civil disruption.

It's all utter madness isn't it. How do you solve problems like one country wanting out of the UK and stay in the EU? Another part would fight to the death to stay in the UK. No one wants borders to complicate things, yet there will be borders.
All this to be solved by a mop headed moron, who wants an election to get himself out of the whole sorry mess. My hats are off to the EU who have played it straight down the line from day one. Not necessarily for our benefit of course.

I see the Mad Poet is off on his political hobby horse again in spite of very recent warnings from the Moderators. I have the feeling his knuckles will rapped yet again by the moderators and nothing will change

Barry obviously is so in love with his art that he feels he has the right to do as he wishes, and the List seemingly accommodates him.

Don't take any notice Barrie, remember that the boy got a lot of criticism too when he upset those holding the populist view by pointing out that the Emperor didn't have any clothes on at all. These days the truth is a stranger to politics it seems; maybe it always has been.

In Scotland, more people voted to remain in the UK at the Independence Referendum, than voted for the SNP at the last election.
What is your motive?

If you are in the running for moderator yourself, Nick, I think you should declare (should I have a vote, it would be against).

In the EU referendum ...Stay in EU 1,661,191 (62%) Leave EU 1,018,332 (38%)

In the Independence referendum...Stay in UK 2,001,926 (55.5%) Leave UK 1,617,989 (44.5%) but I wonder how many voting 'stay' were doing so because they were assured that staying in the UK was the ONLY way they'd stay in the EU?

Hi Norm,

My motive might be self-preservation or it might be an effort to address concerns which seem obvious to a great many people or it might be a combination of both of those things. I invite you most cordially to take your pick.

Best wishes,

BY.

Thank you Barrie for reminding me that “A scout smiles and whistles under all difficulties” and that there is still humour to get us through our trials and tribulations. Good on you. Don’t stop.
