She was built by Scotts' at Greenock in 1966 and had a sister,REGENT built by Harland & Wolff in Belfast.
She lasted until 1997 when she was scrapped in India as RESOURCEFUL.
This was taken off Greenock in the late 70s/80s.

Hi Paul, ahh, she brings back memories! She was my first ever ship, joined her in Glen Mallen on 4th Dec 1985. we sailed to Portland for a work up, and then to the Falklands via Ascention Island. I payed off in July 86 with 2 thousand pounds in a brown envelope....My first big pay off. She was a good ship, but I prefered the Tidespring. She was crappy but happy.

I hope the turbines preformed as worked on the design and drawings at AEI and Scotts' the builders!
Interesting quote...I was the Inspector in Weir's Repairs Dept who reported and suprvised the rebuild of these units prior to despach to Resource & Regent. I hope I have not left myself open here!!!!? I also remember being on her as an Apprentice when she ( Resource) was in Barclay Curle Drydock on the Clyde.
At lunchtimes I remember playing football on the flightdeck....
