RFA Lyme Bay arrived on the Clyde this morning being towed from Swan Hunter's yard for finishing at Govan Ship builders on the upper clyde after the Government pulled the plug on the contract with Swan Hunter after they went over budget and the ship would be late on completion. She was towed by the tugs S.D. Gironde and Kincardine before being handed over to local tugs Ormesby Cross and Svitzer Mallaig for the trip up to Govan. Photographs of the Lyme bay under tow up river will be in my Gallery along with a couple of shot s of the Gironde passing Inverkip on her way dow river after dropping the tow. I know the say that times money but after handing over to the local tugs she went along side the ocean terminal and sailed again within approx 1-1 1/2 hors later followed shortly after by the Kincardine
