I sailed as cadet on the Hazlemoor ‘69, Fernmoor ‘70’ish, and the Kirremoor. Was on the Kirremoor when she was the ship chosen to open the new Roberts Bank coal terminal near Vancouver in ‘71/2, I think. She was described in the local press as a “ Rusty British Freighter”
The Canadian PM , Pierre Eliott Trudeau, officiated and, when he pressed the big red button to start this technological marvel, there was a rumbling noise, a spurt of coal dust and the whole thing broke down ! We were there for several weeks. Good times. I managed to snaffle a British Columbia flag from the proceedings.

Also, in reply to Ron Sew, I sailed with Sam Judah as cadets. Our captain was Duncan Lamont and he was fuming because, in Bombay, Sam‘s Dad arranged for a car and driver to be at our disposal whereas the skipper had to use taxis. Remember going out to Breach Kandi club ( think that’s how you spell it) really living the high life !
