Hi All and Happy New Year to Everyone

Im after any images of a ship called the Burton which was lost on Alderney on the 7th Jan 1911.

Her Official Number was 93408
and year of build was 1889 at Robert Craggs and Son's Stockton yard.
Yard No. 84

Im after images of her before wrecking on the beach as I have copies of them.

Kind Regards G.G.

I have found one photo of a ship named Burton, she could be the ship that you are looking for.

I have posted the photo in the gallery.

Cheers Frank

Thanks Frank

There is similarities with both of the vessels but I'm not sure if is the same vessel or not.

There was a 1271 ton Burton built around the same time in Hull with its registration closing in 1906.

Thanks anyway G.G.

Hi Guernsey Guy
Just noticed your request for photos of Burton and see that you've got a response from FrankP. I've got the same photo and she may be your Burton although I've dug up a photo of a 1987 postcard of an artists' impression of Burton stranded in 1911. As you can see there's only a superficial similarity between FrankP's photo and the postcard, but artistic licence.........! Hope this helps.
Kind regards and all the best for 2020.
