Exmar NV reports that the first commercial ship to ship transfer of LNG took place in the Gulf of Mexico.
the two ships the LNGRV Excelsior and the Excalibur transfered a total of 20,650cu.m.
the LNGRV Excelsior [130,800cu.m.] was built 2005 while the Excalibur[138,000cu.m.]was built in 2002

A transfer actually took place some years ago of the coast of Japan, between the 'Northwest Shearwater' and the 'Norman Lady'.
