Just lovely.... their hulls were sublimely beautiful. I remember some our crew in ST HELENA (I) having GOOD HOPE CASTLE stamps in their discharge books dating from when this pair were put on the St. Helena/Ascension run and had "Saints" among the crew, too. And as portrayed in this photo with the extended superstructure. They could literally have run circles around us. I remember one of Safmarine's "Big Whites" pass us like we were standing still. But they had nothing on this pair for looks.

This was 1966'ish, South Atlantic and is I think is the Constantia. I was RO on the Langkloof.at the time.

The Langkloof usually managed Cape Town to Southampton in about 14 days at somewhere around 17-18 kts, which I thought was fast.
