I have never been to Cape Town. However, on Barber Blue Sea, the most beautiful Ports were New York, arriving around 0400, turning in the river to enter Port Elizabeth, with the Manhattan skyline backlighted by the rising sun and the Inland Sea, arriving in Japan, with Mt. Fuji rising majestically! At the end of the day, it is NOSTALGIA!!!

It is a great shame that I never got there! Very nice photos.

Regarding Vancouver/Seattle, the first inkling you got that you were nearing port were snow-capped Olympic Mountains peeking over the horizon and the ever stronger smell of pine. On one such day, a pod of Orcas breached abeam of the ship, a magnificent sight to behold! The only "downer" in Vancouver were the innumerable tramps and junkies lining up to donate blood near the docks!
