Lads sadly lost the images of the 1960's stereos and trying to rustle up another set.
Pls be understanding as for some reason I seem to be getting a bit slower. Born 13 months after D-Day my old man was a salvage man with the RFA hence my SN name of Succour also the name of one of the Swin class vessels. Happy memories lads.

Old Crown Stereo Gear

Finally managed to find these images after so long.
Old age can be a challenge.
Anyway here goes....this stuff was available around 1968.
Cheers Lads.

They probably need new drive belts. The 'rubber bands' tend to stretch and perish leading to slipping, hence wow.

There is no doubt a Chinese e-bay seller - they do about everything else.

Still using my Akai 1710 W reel to reel stereo tape recorder, bought in Hong Kong in 1966 for £45,about 3 months wages if I remember. In that time I have only replaced one metal cam on it at a recent cost of £25.Japanese technology at its best in those far off days.(Applause)

Or alternatively support local industry http://modernradio.co.uk/ used to be a real Aladdin's Cave when I was at school and fiddled with electronics.

Always liked those early adds that meticulously advised you of the number of transistors in the product.

This faded away with the introduction of IC's as the numbers climbed toward the meaningless.
