Silk purse out of a sow's ear... VICTORIA was pretty amazing. I remember visiting her, late in her career, at San Juan in January 1980 when she was THE VICTORIA of Chandris and still all but original. She had the most amazingly spacious interiors (done by the famous designer Gustavo Pulitizer who did CONTE DI SAVOIA etc) and why some of the biggest staterooms other than BRAZIL/ARGENTINA with more wardrobe space than my entire cabin on FRANCE. The dining room had a central dome and yes even the classic musicians' balcony, too. Vast expanses of wood veneers and original Pulitizer furniture that is worth a fortune now, too.

But yes the sturdy riveted hull was pure DUNNOTTAR CASTLE as was the Boat Deck house with the classic Harland & Wolff pattern windows, vintage OLYMPIC/TITANIC. Most of the railings, too, were classic British mailship, too, and lots of sheer and camber, too.
