Thanks a lot for your reply to my ad! Yes, I‘m still looking for stuff made by Skanti, and shipping from Scotland won’t cost the world I guess. A few pictures would be very helpful, in particular the little ID plates on the Transceiver and the Control Unit. From these plates I get an idea on what the radios are capable of and if they would require extensive modifications to use them for Amateur Radio. The ATUs don’t differ very much, it would be fine if you could line them up and send me a picture of the lot.
I do own several Skanti TRP8000 radios and have installed and use a 400W and a 250W Unit at the moment. Mostly in CW but also for digimodes. As I don’t have a professional technical background I have to rely on that the radios are working, I don’t have the means to do repairs on the component level but I’m comfortable with disassembling the radios, swapping boards and re-programming the Configuration EPROMs.
