Some 8 factory ships laid up in Sandefjord in the winter of 1931/32.
The 3 nearest: Svend Foyn, Vestfold, Kosmos 2, were newly constructed but laid up as soon as they came from the yard.

Just a little piece of useless info C A Larsen was named after the man of the same name who owned all the famous heavy lift shipsdating back during the 30's and later.
My Dad served in Royal norwegian Nave during WW2 and he had his office on Board James Clarck Ross the Factory ship which was at the time moored in Halifax NS, for use by officers serving in Atlantic Convoys.
the Larsen ships were always names with the prefix Bel..... eg Belpareill etc. and so also became known as "Belships" anyone remember these?
