Hmmm....

Here some to eliminate - it is not these:

Helsinki, Leningrad, Gdansk, Gdynia, Szczecin, Tallinn, Riga, Murmansk, Stockholm, Malmo, Pori, Aarhus, Rostock, Trondheim, Wilhelmshaven, Hamburg, Bremerhaven.

The ship is not a "nao", but a "cog", typical merchant vessel of the Hanseatic League. Could the town be Dantzig (I don't know if the spelling is correct)?
