Afraid you can't see the wood for the trees. Somebody else on this forum must have been at this event.

Would it have been the dedication of the MN avenue of trees at the national forest (easier to spell than arboriteum??) at Lichfield? Only because of the clue Wal :)

Well done harlie, it was the Dedication of the Concoy of Trees at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, I am saddened thet we got pathetic responses considering the event, wonderful answer Fred, but out of place. It is worth visiting, one teree planted for each British Merchant or Fishing vessel lost.

Yes there was a P & O Flag, also Harrison, Esso, Andrew Weir, MacAndrews, UBC, BP....., that I supplied for the event.

Sad that on the day it was like walking through a quagmire to see the then young trees.
