A puzzler for you - Does anybody know the maximum number of crossing made by a merchant ship of the N Atlantic during WWII.

To date I have the Athelprince (8792grt/1926) which made 46 crossing. She went to the breakers in 1954. There were at least three claims of her demise from U46, U48 and an Italian sub of the Calvi class. In addition she collided with the Castilian (Westcott & Lawrence) no serious damage.

Put your thinking caps on

Regards
