Hi
Discusion on an unrelated site, intrigued me to the point of asking?.
When I was on Ferries in the 70`s. I am sure they never lashed cars on the drop down car decks? Or am I mistaken?
I do know that the Truck/Trailers where lashed. But have no reccolection of the systematic individual lashing of cars.
Second thought, the pure numbers of cars on a modern car carrier would require large numbers of crew members to lash and release that volume, so do they lash?. I see cars on road transport, often with masive Foam buffers each side and front and rear, which might suggest that they literally pack them in giving no room for movement?
Just thinking really. Any Thoughts/Modern Knowledge?
Pete
