I am a writer based in the US and I am looking for information about my father who worked offshore for many years (O&G). I am also looking for information about a ship he was on. The paperwork I have shows "Lay Barge 28". My father's name was Steve Walton. He worked throughout the 70s and early 80s throughout the Middle East and around Europe. He was in an accident on the ship in the early 1980s when an elevator shaft broke loose with him in it and dropped many stories (I seem to remember him saying 60 stories but that seems very high). We was almost fatally injured but survived after many surgeries. He was from Stafford. If you have any info about the ship, heard about the accident, or knew my father, I'd love to hear from you.
