I'm researching a cargo steamer captain named E. Henke. He was born about 1885-1886, place unknown. He served on several merchant ships that mostly traveled the NYC to England route. In 1920 he was 1st assistant engineer on the SS Mozara; 1921 a 1st mate on the SS Consort; 1922-23 a seaman on the SS Eastern Sword; 1925 he was Master Henke on the Liberty Glo; and 1925-26 Master on the SS Capulin. I've lost track of him after 1926. If you have additional information on his full name, place of birth, other ships he sailed on, or his place and date of death, I'd sure appreciate your help. Thanks, Jim

Not had much time to look at this but one thing you may need to check out and that is you have him as 1st assistant engineer in 1920 and then the mate in 1921. You may have two different men here.
Oil and water don't really mix so going from engineer to deck in one year, I would doubt.
