Ship Type : General Cargo Ship (Victory VC2-S-AP3).
Dim : Loa / Lpp x Beam - 138.76 / 133.04 x 18.9 mtr.
Built in 1944 by Permanente Metal Corporation Inc Shipyard No.1 Richmond CA USA as " GUATAMALA VICTORY " for United States War Shipping Administration (American-Hawaiian Company New York NY as manager ) Washington DC USA.

Tonnage : grt / nrt / tdw - 7.645 / 4.635 / 10.769.
Machinery : General Electric Steam Turbine (HP+LP) - 8.500 Shp.
Main Boiler : 2 x Water Tube Boilers.

1946 Transferred to United States Maritime Commision ( Same manger ) Washington DC USA.
1946 Sold to NV Nederlandsche -Amerikaansche Stroomvaart Maatschappij Rotterdam Netherland,renamed " AALSDYK ".
1960 Sold to Overseas Maritime Company Inc ( Pacific Union Line Ltd (C.Y.Tung) Hong Kong as manager) Monrovia Liberia,renamed " HONGKONG MANURACTURER ".
1961 Renamed " HONGKONG CLIPPER ".
1964 New manager : Island Navigation Company (C.Y.Tung) Ltd Taipei Taiwan.

1974 BU Kaohsiung Taiwan.

I sailed on a 6,000 HP Victory ship and as I recall we made about 15+ knots at sea. My understanding is that the 8,500 HP Victory ships were considerably faster and made about 17+ knots at sea.
