Allunga ran the route with two other ships, the Dilkara (UK) and Paralla (Sweden), their first letters were the P-A-D of PAD, which was marketed to shippers here as "Pacific-Australia-Direct". The Dilkara and Allunga were identical inside (both had bars), the Paralla had an exercise room.

According to miramar Allunga was broken up Kaohsiung 9.8.86, work began 10.86. Anyone knows why Allunga had a relatively short life?

She was a regular caller in Oakland and Captain Alan Clarke was her regular contract pilot.

I used to remember why the Allunga was scrapped earlier, maybe it will come to me later. I do recall the Paralla used some engine parts from one of the other two in the later 1980s while undergoing repairs here in Portland.

I remember folk in ANL whinging that the other two ships got more cargo than Allunga. The assumption was that the other two companies were trying to push ANL out of the consortium.
