AMERICAN HARVESTER

AMERICAN HARVESTER

In fact this could only be the AMERICAN HARVESTER, but I'm in doubt, because the superstructure differs (is higher) from the photos of the American Harvester in the gallery.

She is AMERICAN HARVESTER, to compare (just the railing canvas of the top deck is missing) no difference:

That is what I mean Manfred, different. Rebuilt?

Not 'rebuilt', just open railings for the monkey island but the white canvas is shown up. Without the canvas you would see the railing but is give a completely different look.

'Ozzie...
Chinese vessel astern.'

Given the date... 1961 ... more likely Polish 'POL' ....

Yes, I did consider that and you are most probably correct.

However on the careful zoom, I thought that I could discern a clear Chinese Red star on the funnel rather than the POL shield. Still can as a matter of fact, however that could be the distance and angle distortion. Her name also could be two words, which tends towards Chinese.

Anyway, no worries

Thanks for posting.

Hi all,
the vessel behind the AMERICAN HARVESTER is German CEUTA (1955, Deutsche Werft, Hamburg-Finkenwerder, no sister ships)) of OPDR (Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei), Hamburg.
