Typical bar scene from the Ardmore in 1980/81. I think this was the leckie; sorry I've forgotten some names over the last 30 years! The bulk shipping division of P&O insisted on the wearing of uniform in the bar for some unknown reason. They also had opening hours in the bar, and a steward working behind the bar. Hence why cases of beer were bought prior to "closing time". General cargo was more relaxed.....
