Good morning all from a wet and windy Leixoes,
Argus pride once went into Bilbao and some sort of discussion evovled with the local authouritiys police or customs and one of them pulled his gun and shot the skipper I cant remember whether he died or not as I,m going from memory only, this would have been early 80s, maybe someone can remember more about the incident..
Peter..
I think it was when she was in Pasajes as the Hardy Merchant. The Captain had a shot gun on board and, as I recall started firing it in the port whereby the Guarda Civil came down and shot him. I was in port the next day but can´t remember the full details.
Regards,
Chris

Hughie, thanks thats cleared that up then, I remember it because we also had an AB onboard who had come off her shortly after because i think she was subsequently arrested in passages after the incident with the Capt..
Peter..
That sounds like a sorry old tale. He must have had something to hide though.
I have her down in my book as being owned by 'Robert A. Glass, Grays, Essex' around the time this photo was taken.
