The British m/s Auk, 79,1m/1.238gt, built 1949 by Austin & Pickersgill, Sunderland, for General Steam Navigation Co.,Ltd.,London,; 1965 Ouranoupolis, D.Dragonas, Greece; Breaking up at Port Said 1992.
She was the first vessel berthing to the Port Wine quay (up to date Gaia quay), Oporto, where she is seen on 13/03/1956. during the inauguration ceremony of that quay.

Hi Rui, My Father took this one over to the Canadian Coast in the mid 1950,s and spent a year out there running around the Labrador Coast and Hudson Bay area. I can't remember where she spent the winter months. They had a Loudspeaker System fitted (PA) with a great big Reel to Reel tape recorder and a large Hallicrafter Radio attached to the system.
