As a painting it does not give good detail for comparisons, But I think it is one of the following:
Cavalier, Crusader, Defender, Engineer, Explorer, Seafarer,
Interested to see what others think.
Seasons Greetings to all OJ

The painting is one of many by George King in the book. What ship would you put on the front cover of your auto-biography than your own painting of your first command? "British Explorer"

This painting is on the cover of "A love of Ships" which as Barnsey said is by George King - another of his books was "Tanker practice" of which a copy was on all BP Tanker.
