I spent 10 months on this ship, Suez Crisis September 1956 until June 1957, in that time we had two cargoes of crude oil around the Cape, one from Bandar Mashur to Haifa and Bandar Mashur to Swansea, with one short voyage in the Medi in between, very monotonous.

Nav/App mid sixties Scandinavia - Honingsvaag and all ports south around to Lulea. Great time. Would not have missed it for anything,- even the gale force 11 in the North sea coming back to I.O.G from Gothenburg. Everything else was hove-to but we barrelled along with 47 degrees showing on the bridge inclinometer. Happy days for a young lad!
She was infamously dubbed and indeed painted British WorkHOUSE by a deck crew . Think it happened in Aden and she sailed to her next port with British WorkHOUSE painted on her bows.
The crew responsible were arrested. Dont know much more about her.
