Hugh I think you'll find it's a Safehaven Marine photo from their web gallery...I used this for a painting on SN marine maritime gallery (see my johnstevensartist gallery on SN) ..I think it was the Cork Pilot . If you give me an email address on 'PM' I will send you the original photographs I used for the painting. You couild also confirm with Frank Kowalski at safehaven marine.

as John says, it's Cork's pilot boat, Gleann Mor , a still taken from a Safehaven marine publicity video.

'Cork' and 'bobbing' come to mind ...it is one of the most impressive images on safehavenmarine ... the lighting makes it even more dramatic. It's one of those ideal for a caption competition (e.g. 'I said hard a port you idiot!' )

I believe they build pilot cutters in Cork and that is how they advertise their wares.
I always thought that getting aboard a ship was the easiest part of the job!
