These dolphins are made of bronze, and have a swinging hook in the lower centre. They are mounted on a hardwood (mahogany) plaque, but I'm not sure if that is the original backing for them. I think that they are from a Tiller Yoke. Does anyone know from where, or on what kind of boat they would have been used? I believe that they are from the late 19th./early 20th. century, and that are something to do with the British Royal Navy?
