Built by Deutsche Werft A G Hamburg for Leif Hoegh & Co Oslo in 1956 as "Hoegh Cliff". In June 1967 sold to Jardine Matheson's ICSNC and renamed "Eastern Cliff". In 1969 transferred to Dominion Far East Line (HK) Ltd. In 1972 sold to Ocean Tramping Co Ltd Hong Kong and renamed "Bihua". In 1979 was transferred to Peoples Republic of China and renamed "Hong Qi 134" and was still listed by Lloyds in 1988.

Sailed in her as 3rd Mate with Jardines, and again as Master when she was 'Bihua' with Ocean Tramps. Always a hoo-doo ship! Does anyone have a photo of her as 'Bihua'?

Exh.Boiler : Economiser / 142 psi.
Aux.Boiler : Water Tube Boiler / 142 psi.

1965 Went aground 14/10 on breakwater at Kenosha, WI, USA whilst on a voyage from Chicago, IL, USA to Bombay, India. Went to Chicago for repairs.
1967 Sold in June for NOK 12.500.000 to Indo-China Steam Navigation Co. Ltd, Hong Kong,renamed " EASTERN CLIFF ".
1968 Transferred to Dominion Far east Line (Hong Kong) Ltd, Hong Kong.
1972 Sold to Ocean Tramping Co. Ltd, Hong Kong,renamed " BIHUA ".
1979 Sold to China Ocean Shipping Corporation ltd Canton China,renamed " HONG QI 134 ".
1992 Transferred to Guangzhou Maritime Transport (Group) Co., Guangzhou, China.

2007 Deleted from registers.
