I joined her in the Caledon yard in Dundee on 11/7/60 as JOS. Bosun was Bob Parsons. After sea trials we anchored off the Gordonstoun school, which is, I think, near to Lossiemouth. A crowd of pupils came out to the ship, which had been adopted by the school, and were given a tour, while we, the deck crowd, were sent down no1 lower hold to sweep it out, and to keep us out of the way.
After that we carried on to Glasgow to load, but the seaman's strike broke out so they kept us steaming around for a few days until the stores ran out.
I saw her years later as the Europe II, anchored at Piraeus, but still an obvious China boat
