FAUZON

FAUZON

The French cargo ship FAUZON, owned by Compagnie de Navigation d'Orbigny, Paris, collided in January 1953 with the Costa Rican vessel ASTER on the Goodwin Sands. The FAUZON suffered heavy bow damage and leaked water into the holds 1 and 2. She was provisionally grounded on the sands, but could be towed to Flushing later.

Forgive my 'Sunday morning chuckle' Gijsha, which is totally unacceptable considering my Dutch is non existent and your English is perfect but I think you mean 'off' rather than 'on' the Goodwin Sands? That said it was probably just a good, old fashioned 'typo', something that can happen in any language.

Presume there are no similar pictures of the 'Aster'? Please continue your unique, SN posting and have a great Sunday.

Kindest to you yours and all my long time Dutch friends. GGG
