This must be the famous pre-war Coronation (George VI) Review where the BBC made the mistake of handing a live microphone to an RN escort officer to describe the scene. They failed to realise that his gentle swaying motion was not caused by a need to offset the movement of a boat. He launched off into a rambling drunken monologue starting with "The Fleet's lit up" and they could not retrieve the mike. Great embarrassment for the pompous BBC commentator at the time but it featured in very many subsequent comedy shows.
