FORT BRULE

A ‘North Sands’ Standard vessel built by West Coast Shipbuilders Ltd., Vancouver and delivered during November 1942 to the WSA. She was allocated to Sir R. Ropner and Co., West Hartlepool who managed her on behalf of the MOWT.
She reverted back to the U.S.M.C. at the end of the war and was sold to Indian owners who chose to name her Jalamoti, as seen in this photograph.
By 1961 she was in the hands of Panamanian owners and trading as Adawind until new Panamanian owners named her Island Venture in 1964.
She was broken up at Kaohsiung during 1967.
